The Special Refurb by Fendt: performance upgrades for the winning 720 Vario

Taken straight from the field, Alexis Neveu’s tractor will not be the same when it returns. That’s because Alexis won the #VINtoWin competition and his 720 Vario is now undergoing a complete overhaul in the Special Refurb by Fendt.

The tractor was taken to Germany where a team of Fendt technicians are working on it. We’ve planted cameras in the workshop so you can get a front row view of the whole process when you subscribe to our refurb videos. This week the team have been finding ways to optimise the tractor’s performance.

Increased performance, less fuel

Getting to grips with tyre assembly, the Fendt team have upgraded with MICHELIN VF (very high flexion) tyres. This type of tyre can carry up to 40% more load at the same air pressure as standard tyres. With the ground contact area increased by 25% it means greater protection for the soil and less sink in.

Alexis also requested a weight to be fitted to the front power lift. After ensuring the power lift was in perfect working order the team fitted a 1250kg weight to the winning tractor. They also decided to fit a pair of wheel weights, which they screwed directly into the rims.

Fitting huge wheels and over 1800 kg of weights is no easy task, find out how the Fendt team managed it.

Cab comfort for an effective day’s work

A comfortable cab is a productive cab. Watch as the team fit a new multi-function operator seat. It’s heated, ventilated and anti-vibration as well as having horizontal suspension for maximum driving comfort. It’s finished off with a stylish, Lehnert, easy-fit seat cover. Add to that new air-conditioning and this is now a cab where Alexis can work at his most effective.

Connect to optimise

Alexis is now able to monitor and analyse machine data, while he works, from his cab with the Connect telemetry solution. It will enable him to optimise the way the machine is used and monitor costs. It also simplifies communications with the workshop by connecting to a distributor – minimizing downtime and potential outages.

Find out how the Fendt team were able to retrofit Connect to the winning machine.
