In rural France is a very happy farmer. One who now has the tractor of his dreams – customised to meet his exact needs. That farmer is 28-year-old Alexis Neveu, winner of the #VINtoWin competition. The tractor is a 2019 Vario 720 which has been completely transformed by a team of experts in the Special Refurb by Fendt.

Bespoke upgrade for optimal performance

A relatively new machine with only minor faults – the Fendt team were able to invest their time and resources in the upgrades of the winner’s choice. Here are a few examples of the ways in which the machine has been upgraded to improve its performance, comfort and safety.

Technology

With the addition of the Fendt Connect telemetry solution, Alexis will now get optimum use of his tractor. Via his smartphone, directly from his cab, he can monitor and analyse machine data, keep track of costs and as it connects to a dealer, have access to help 24/7.

Fendt Connect keeps farmers informed:

  • Machine position and route
  • Fuel consumption and DEF level
  • Speed and working time
  • Machine capacity
  • Error messages
  • Upcoming service intervals

Efficiency

Using a mobile tyre changer supplied by partner Euromaster, the Vario 720 has been upgraded with jet black MICHELIN VF (very high flexion) tyres.

  • Front axle – VF600/60 R30 Rear axle – VF710/60 R42
  • 25% greater mass than standard tyres – more traction, less fuel consumption
  • Better road performance – more ground protection
  • Same air pressure as standard tyres but handles 40% more load
  • 300kg weights for ballasting screwed directly onto rims

Safety

Good visibility on a farm is key to preventing accidents which could potentially change lives and damage livelihoods. Here’s what was added to make the winning tractor an even safer place for Alexis to work.

  • Large-screen reversing camera
  • LED lighting – higher luminosity to see more clearly at night and in poor weather

Comfort

It’s no secret, greater comfort equals higher productivity. The Fendt team got to work on improving the Cab for Alexis.

  • New multi-function operator seat – heated, ventilated and anti-vibration
  • A Lehnert seat cover – for a clean comfortable cab
  • An air-conditioning system service

Going green with AGCO Reman

More than 200 AGCO Genuine and AGCO Reman parts have been used to bring the tractor back to factory condition. Where possible – such as when fitting a replacement starter motor - the team have taken the greener approach by using remanufactured AGCO parts. These parts perform to the same standard and carry the same guarantee as new - while using only a fraction of the energy and resources to produce.

AGCO Reman – the facts

  • Performs to the same standard & has same guarantee as new parts
  • Typical cost saving of 30%
  • Uses less energy and resources in production
  • AGCO has 25 years’ experience remanufacturing parts for Fendt machines
  • Range covers machines from the 1970s to current production models
