What is the Motec digital camera like to use and how well does it work in the field?
Only one way to find out – we asked a Fendt operator working on a large-scale agricultural operation in Bavaria, South Germany
Do you find the technology easy to use, and why?
“Because the camera is integrated into the Fendt display, the operation is very intuitive and follows the familiar FendtONE logic. There’s no need to adapt or rethink anything.”
What do you find particularly positive?
“First of all, the excellent image quality of the new camera stands out. Secondly, the seamless integration into the vehicle display means that no additional monitor is needed in the cab. Smart Fendt features, like the automatic full-screen camera view when reversing, makes it great user experience.”
How does the camera make your daily work easier?
“The camera gives me a sense of safety when reversing - I can see areas that might otherwise be hidden in the blind spots of the vehicle mirrors. It also helps me distribute harvested material evenly over a specific length in the silage clamp because I can see exactly how much material is being unloaded from the trailer.”
What generally makes manoeuvring so challenging?
“Some implements, like large push-off trailers, don’t allow any rear visibility, creating a significant blind spot when reversing. When you rely only on mirrors, you have to trust that there are no obstacles or people in that area.”
Motec promotes plug & play. Is it really that simple?
Yes, absolutely. You simply connect the camera cables to the vehicle, and the camera image appears directly on the vehicle display.
